The exhibition event started in Sapporo in July, but this is Kawanishi Kaban's first attempt at a nationwide tour.
Many issues arose, such as the venue, date, and shipping, but with the help of many people we were finally able to get things moving!
In this blog, I will be reporting on the journey to hosting the event.
Today I would like to explain in detail about the leather eco bag guu that is only available at the event.
How guu was born
Around October, when our YouTube channel, which we started on April 20, 2022, was gradually starting to reach more people, the idea of holding the "Kawanishi Kaban Business Trip" event was conceived.
From the beginning, the event was started as an "exhibition" rather than a sales event, to create an opportunity for people to see and touch Kawanishi Kaban products! However, the venue, Cafe CAMERA, had industrial sewing machines on hand.
So we decided to hold a special event using a sewing machine! This led to the development of the "guu genuine leather eco bag" being born !
What is the leather eco bag "guu"?
This special eco bag has a simple silhouette and is made from beautifully dyed genuine leather, giving it a luxurious and elegant feel.
In the center of the bag, there is a leather belt with the Kawanishi Kaban logo engraved on it , and the compact functionality and impactful design make this bag perfect for adults.

The leather used for guu has small scratches and stains and would have been discarded. Cowhide leather is a living animal, so scratches can occur before it is made into leather, or blemishes from blood vessels, which are unavoidable.
In some cases, scratches can be avoided by using creative manufacturing techniques, but depending on the brand, scratched leather may not be recognized as genuine and may be discarded.
Therefore, Kawanishi Kaban began purchasing damaged or stained leather that was scheduled to be discarded, and proceeded with the development of a way to regenerate it into guu.
We have created an eco-bag that allows you to enjoy your own special leather, viewing scratches and uneven coloring as unique features of the leather.
How to make it
The eco-bag guu will be available exclusively at the exhibition event. You can choose your favorite color on the day, and the president will sew it for you on the sewing machine on site in about 40 minutes!
